Ooma Adds Google Voice Experience to Upgrade its VoIP Service
The development at Google Voice has attracted many attentions
particularly in the VoIP industry. As a tough competitor, Google Voice
is believed to pose some challenges in the industry but some companies
are looking beyond the challenges and see it as an opportunity to
market themselves by integrating Google Voice product into their
existing VOIP Phone services.
One of the few companies that sees the opportunity presented by Google
Voice product is Ooma. Ooma has announced a set of Ooma Premier Google
Voice Extensions compatible with its current and future home phone
systems planned for summer release.
Ooma simplifies the Google Voice user experience, enabling consumers
to take advantage of the complementary capabilities found in both
offerings, for a truly integrated and seamless phone experience –
regardless of phone type or location.
In a statement released by its chief marketing officer, Rich Buchanan,
“when consumers combine Google Voice with Ooma in the home, they
realize superior voice communication functionality with the greatest
cost savings of any personal unified communications system available
today.”
Ooma Premier Google Voice Extensions allows Ooma users to display
their Google Voice caller ID on outbound calls from Ooma systems with
no need to dial additional call prompts or phone numbers. It also
helps users display Google Voice caller ID on outbound calls.
Ooma is planning to start working on these features very soon and the
good news is that the existing and the new users of Ooma can expect to
see Google voice integration very soon. Ooma is accessible in USA and
it is being offered in Amazon for $199.
